Masking Exemption Rules Scrutinized in BC

It remains unclear how store employees are supposed to discern between those who have a legitimate health exemption from B.C.’s new indoor mask mandate and those who refuse to follow the new rules in protest.
Last week, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced the new indoor mask mandate <www.castanet.net/news/BC/316879/Indoor-gatherings-banned>for all indoor public and retail spaces, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise across the province. On Tuesday, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth officially signed the new order, outlining those who are exempt from the mandate <www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca/civix/document/id/mo/mo/m0425_2020>, including children under 12 and those with medical impairment or condition that would prevent them from wearing a mask.
